It was announced Tuesday that the culinary team behind Detroit's latest burger spot Lovers Only and Ferndale's Voyager are taking on their third concept with a walk-up window style breakfast sandwich and grain bowl spot slated to open next month.
Iggy's Eggies will open on the Grand River Avenue side of Lovers Only, located in Detroit's Capitol Park. Described in a press release as a "cheerful and colorful morning walk-up window," Iggy's Eggies will serve breakfast essentials paired with Ann Arbor-based RoosRoast coffee.
The menu will offer a range of sandwiches, including the Little Debbie, a take on corned beef hash, the Bodega, a fried bologna sandwich, and an herbivore-friendly Stay Golden veggie sandwich featuring sprouts, avocado, onion, feta, and hummus. Sweet and savory grain bowls are also on the menu and, as with many of their ingredients, will use locally sourced eggs and breakfast meats. Other items, such as their biscuits, will be made in-house.
Though no date has been announced, Iggy's Eggies is slated for a December grand opening.
