Good Cakes and Bakes will be featured on the Cooking Channel tonight

Good Cakes and Bakes

The charming bakery called Good Cakes and Bakes is getting it's turn in the spotlight tonight as they will be featured on an episode of Cheap Eats on the Cooking Channel.

The show, which is hosted by food blogger Ali Khan, is featuring the Livernois Ave. bakery and it's owner/pastry chef April Anderson.

Anderson says she was making a special pie for National Pie Day (a blueberry, goat cheese, and basil pie — talk about yum!) and posted a photo of it onto social media. A few days later the producers from the show contacted Anderson and told her they wanted to feature her bakery in an upcoming episode.

“Detroit is hot right now, and the real excitement is the growth of the food
industry here. Neighborhood business development and entrepreneurship is
growing in Detroit. I believe anytime we get to showcase this, whether locally
or nationally, is a plus for Detroit," Anderson said in a press release.

The Cooking Channel's Cheap Eats follows host Khan as he tried to find some of the most delicious, yet really cheap, food in a certain city. We are interested to see what other dining establishments he visited while in Detroit.

The show airs tonight on the Cooking Channel at 10 p.m.
