Founders is expected to announce plans for a new Cass Corridor taproom
Founders could be the next Michigan brewery in Midtown.

Crain's reports that the Grand Rapids-based brewer is expected to announce plans for a new taproom and brewery in a 12,000-square-foot building at 456 Charlotte St. That's right at the edge of the District Detroit arena/entertainment district now under construction. It would be the company's first location outside Grand Rapids.

According to Crain's the brewery is planned for the building that used to house the Cass Corridor Food Co-op.

“Having been born and raised in the metro area, Detroit has long held a special place in my heart,” said Mark Dorich, Founders’ Vice President of Retail Operations. “Some of our strongest support has come from the east side of Michigan, and we could not think of a better place to expand our taproom experience."
