Badass Beer | 4.2% ABV

A traditional American beer that is light on the palette, crisp and supremely easy to drink, Badass Beer is a good pale lager. Slight citrus notes don't overwhelm, and there isn't one bit of aftertaste. And if you know anything about Michigan's favorite son and Badass Beer founder – Kid Rock – then you might guess that it's also a beer that's easy to drink in large batches.

Dry and slightly carbonated, it's easy to see why it's become a mainstay for many. Ever since Kid Rock debuted it to the public in 2009, it has been a staple on shelves – and at parties – everywhere.

Of course, the brew went on hiatus after Michigan Brewing Company, the brewer responsible for making Badass, went belly up. Now, thanks to Brew Detroit, Badass is back and better than ever. Now, it's made with an entirely new recipe that leaves the corn syrup out. Its new run means it's an all-grain lager that's got a craftier edge than its predecessor.

Brew Detroit started doing test runs of the beer way back in April 2014, and they started distributing the new version last month. You can pick up Badass in Detroit, Dearborn, Ann Arbor, Livonia, Monroe, Milford, and plenty other metro Detroit cities.

Brew Detroit, a collaborative brewing facility, officially opened in the fall of 2014. Their tasting room is open Tuesday through Sunday at 1401 Abbott St., Detroit, where you can get a cold draft of Badass Beer six days a week.
