The owners of Corktown's The Farmer's Hand specialty grocer are preparing to open a new cafe next door to their shop.
Kiki Louya and Rohani Foulkes will present the space, called Folk, on Wednesday when they host an all day brunch.
Folk writes on its Facebook page that its menu will offer "globally inspired yet familiar comfort foods created with nutrient packed locally and ethically sourced ingredients."
That includes "seasonal hash, breakfast plates, biscuit sandwiches, house made granola, wholesome salads, meat pies and family meal specials based global travels and family recipes."
Beyond that, diners will find a line of handmade pastries, Hyperion Coffee, and Reilly Craft Creamery ice cream.
Crain's reports that Folk will offer a slightly different menu on weekends, but food prices will range from $6 for granola or a yogurt bowl to $12.50 for larger shareable plates.
The 24-seat, 700-square-foot restaurant is located at 1701 Trumbull Ave. in Detroit.
