Cadillac Square will turn into a giant beer garden this summer.

Central Kitchen + Bar will soon pour Atwater Brewery and Great Lakes Brewing Company beers in a new summer beer garden in Cadillac Square.

Kegs in the temporary 6,000-square-foot beer garden will be tapped on Friday, May 25, and the garden will remain in place until Monday, Aug. 12. It will be located across the street from Central Kitchen + Bar on the west side of Cadillac Square.

Expect a menu with a variety of finger foods and other beer-friendly fare like popcorn, pretzel bites, chips and guacamole, chicken schnitzel, bratwurst and gelato.

The beer garden is part of a larger effort to fill downtown's parks during the summer months. The east half of the square will be programmed by the Downtown Detroit Partnership and include several food trucks. And a farmers market in Capitol Park will hot 30 vendors, including Detroit Dough and Detroit Marshmallow Co.

The beer garden is a partnership between the three restaurants and breweries, and Bedrock. It will be open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from noon to midnight; and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
