To conclude an eventful year for their downriver location, Bobcat Bonnie's will re-open their Wyandotte spot this Friday — this time, it will be permanent.
Having ended a contentious relationship with a previous business partner, Bobcat Bonnie's owner Matthew Buskard was able to purchase the lease to their original Wyandotte location. Thus, Buskard and his partner Joey Salamon were able to make improvements to the space, including adding an exterior sign to the building.

Salamon added artwork to the walls, including a colorful mural and a collage of gold kitchen utensils and cookware he purchased from Fred's Unique Furniture.
Other improvements included adding stained glass-style paint to the bathroom hallway and decoupaging bathroom walls with vintage yearbooks also purchased from Fred's Unique Furniture.

Buskard says the restaurant will re-open on Friday. As with their initial run, they will begin with dinner service and will later add their popular brunch. The gap is mainly due to their need to hire qualified kitchen staff.

Back in January, Buskard announced he was working with the space's previous tenants, the owners of now-defunct Bourbon's Bayou, to bring his Corktown concept downriver. The initial run was successful, but a dispute with the owners of Bourbon's led to the temporary closure of Bobcat Bonnie's. After several attempts, Buskard says he was able to purchase the lease and re-open in the same space.

The restaurant is located at 118 Sycamore St., Wyandotte.
