John Powers has been working in the vein of kinetic sculpture, installation and object making for the past two decades. His talk will focus on the development of his career and practice over that time and will touch on his interests in technology, time, myth, history and place. This talk is brought to you by the CCS Woodward Lecture Series, which, since 1998, has remained one of Southeast Michigan’s most prominent visiting speaker series, attracting over 100 renowned artists, critics and scholars to Detroit.
