Woodhaven Theatre Company's Production of Romeo + Juliet

The Woodhaven Theatre Company takes to the stage to perform William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, adding a 1990s Twist! While maintaining Shakespeare's original phrasing, this production transports his characters to Downriver, Michigan during a time where high school rivalries lead to violent outbursts and tragic love. This time, the Capulets and Montagues are adorned in varsity jackets and flannels instead of silk gowns and tunics as fair Verona has been transformed into Midwest suburbia. However, this change in setting will not protect these characters from their tragic fates.
