White Flowers with Spectrum Two

White Flowers are a sextet featuring brilliant string work, heavy rhythms and searing guitar work from LuFuki. Channeling the beauty and fierceness of Detroiter Yusef Lateef's compositions, White Flowers is fresh off their residency at Ragdale Arts. Spectrum 2 is a duo consisting of Skeeter Shelton on saxophone and Nick Ashton on percussion. Skeeter, the son of AACM founding member Ajaramu has been a mainstay on the Detroit seen for decades. His experience ranges from being a protege of Dorothy Ashby, performing with Joe Tex, the Conspiracy Wind Ensemble, and the Redford Civic Symphony Orchestra.
