Uncle Sam Jam

Downriver’s largest summer festival, Uncle Sam Jam, returns to Woodhaven July 6-9. This annual FREE family-fun festival takes place in Civic Center Park (located at I-75 and West Road) during the Downriver Community’s Independence holiday celebration.

This year’s featured music lineup includes Prince tribute band, The Prince Project, on Thurs., July 6; On Fri., July 7, rock out with Buckcherry and Jackyl; 90’s alternative band, Everclear, and Detroit’s own Sponge perform on Sat. July 8; and Garth Brooks tribute band, Fresh Horses will close out the festival on Sun., July 9. Many local and regional acts will also perform all weekend long. All concerts are FREE to attend, attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs.

Uncle Sam Jam has something for the whole family with a huge carnival midway of over 30 amusement rides, games, cornhole tournament, petting zoo, and the popular Shell-Camino Monster Truck Rides. Thursday is Family Fun Day with all-day ride passes just $25. The skies will light up on Friday night with Downriver’s biggest and brightest fireworks show sponsored by the Woodhaven Downtown Development Authority and the City of Woodhaven. New this year, a classic car show on the festival grounds takes place on Sun., June 9 from Noon – 5:00 p.m.

Carnival rides, food, and discounted unlimited ride wristbands for $35 are available for purchase onsite. Discounted all-day ride passes for $27 are available for purchase at the Woodhaven Community Center (23101 Hall Rd. in Woodhaven).
