Taco Showdown

What makes for the ultimate Summer Sunday Funday in Detroit? How about sampling the very best tacos and margaritas around, on one day, in one place, for a special price! Taco Showdown Detroit presented by Leaf and Bud: The Mark Savaya Collection will deliver all of this and much more on Sunday, July 28th from 11am-1pm (VIP Experience) and 1-5pm (General Admission Entry) at Eastern Market (Shed 5, 2801 Russell St., Detroit, MI 48207).

During this year’s 5h Annual Taco Showdown, you will join a bevy of other Taco Lovers for the opportunity to experience tacos, salsas, and margaritas from over a dozen of the best taquerias in Michigan, along with Mexican-themed music and dancers, Luchadores (Mexican Wrestlers), a ‘Margarita Mix-Off’, vendors, DJ music and a video wall, and more!

GA tickets to this event are in limited quantity, start at $20 and are available at Eventbrite.com. There are also a very limited quantity of VIP/Early Entry tickets available for $40 while supplies last, which allow admission to the event two hours early. Doors for VIP are at 11am, and general admission begins at 1 p.m.

Ticket holders will receive, along with entry, (3) Tacos from the vendor of your choice, (5) margarita samples, a voting card to name your top tacos and margaritas, a cash bar serving beer, wine, liquor and soft drinks/water, a keepsake photo, live Mexican-themed entertainment and much more! Additional taco and drink tickets will be available for purchase.

Ticket holders will vote for their top tacos/restaurants and margaritas, and the top 5 vote- getters will go on to create a taco for our panel of celebrity judges made up of local food critics and journalists at 3:30pm. There will only be a limited number of tickets sold for this year’s event – we strongly encourage getting your tickets early!
