SKULL - Detroit’s Gothfest

$15 – $80
Curated by artist B.P. LeGault, SKULL - Detroit’s Gothfest, is an annual Detroit event. The first SKULL was in 2022 at the Russell Industrial Center with over 35 DJ’s and bands. SKULL 2023 was postponed until 2024 due to B.P. LeGault being diagnosed with cancer in December of 2022. Starting treatments in March 2023, LeGault survived seven weeks of cancer treatments consisting of radiation and chemotherapy. During his long journey of recovery he realized he still had the desire to support Detroit’s underground goth community that consists of numerous long term talented resident deejays that spin goth, industrial, post punk, dark techno, and many other unique genres at local clubs. Alongside that desire, LeGault still had the determination to support the new and established local bands/projects that overlap into the underground goth scene as well as Detroit’s goth subculture that consists of unique arts like shibari rope and the LGBTQ+ Kink community. “When friends and strangers alike come together and dance they are having a ritual experience no matter where it is. Detroit has some of the best music and nightlife in the world and our goth subculture is unique and diverse. We deserve a festival to celebrate all of the weird and wonderful sounds. And each other. That is what SKULL is.” - B.P. LeGault
