Taking influence from the zombie comedy of Shaun of the Dead and the noir comedy of The Nice Guys, Serenity Curse inserts comedy into the psychological horror of films like Jacob’s Ladder and It Follows. It tackles heavy subjects like depression with enough levity to make you laugh, enough heart to make you cry, and enough demonic possession to make you grip your armrest.
