“Run of the Dead” – a Día de los Muertos Celebration, returns to Southwest Detroit

The Southwest Detroit Business Association presents the 2022 “Run of the Dead” 5K/10K run/walk from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 5 at the George S. Patton Park Recreation Center, 2301 Woodmere in Southwest Detroit. The event celebrates the Mexican holiday of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Competitors will run/walk through two historic cemeteries, an ofrenda (altar) will be displayed, and food and hot beverages will be provided by Detroit Loves Tacos. Proceeds go to the Center of Music & Performing Arts Southwest (COMPÁS). Members of COMPÁS will also perform at the event.
