The vibrant and inclusive city of Royal Oak, MI, is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of Royal Oak Pride, a celebration of unity, diversity, and community. Building on the overwhelming success of its inaugural year, Royal Oak Pride promises to be an extravaganza for individuals from all walks of life, giving both the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies the opportunity to revel in a spirit of acceptance and equality.

Held in the heart of Downtown Royal Oak on Washington Avenue between 5th and 7th streets on August 4th and 5th, 2023, Royal Oak will come alive with a kaleidoscope of vibrant national live performances, delicious food and drink, a wide variety of vendors, and a contagious atmosphere of celebration. Royal Oak Pride invites everyone to join in the festivities, regardless of age, gender, race, or sexual orientation. Get ready for an unforgettable experience that will leave you inspired, empowered, and filled with a sense of belonging.

RuPaul's Drag Race Superstars Brooke Lynn Hytes and Alyssa Edwards will headline on Aug 4th and 5th respectively, bringing their unmatched charisma, talent, and larger-than-life personalities to the main stage. Singer-songwriter and ‘The Four’ finalist VINCINT, and Puddles Pity Party, the clown with the golden voice, will round out a diverse array of national talent, with additional performances by Detroit’s own Barbara Payton, longtime backing vocalist for Bob Seger, and top-notch tribute artists with full bands paying homage to the greatest hits of Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, and Prince. Live DJ music and karaoke will provide additional live entertainment on two stages throughout the event, which will run from 5pm-11pm on August 4th, and 11am-11pm on August 5th.

Royal Oak Pride is more than just an incredible lineup of performers. It's a celebration for all, with activities catering to every member of the family. The Family Fun Zone will be a haven of joy and excitement, offering a bounce house, face painting, Drag Queen storytelling, and entertainment suitable for all ages. Meanwhile, the Vendor Village will offer unique offerings by local artisans, LGBTQIA+-owned businesses, and an array of products and non-profit services – all within a stone’s throw of Downtown Royal Oak’s unique retail shops.

To satisfy your cravings, a delectable array of delicious beverages and food trucks will be serving up both carnival-style and international foods to cater to all tastes and preferences, all surrounded by one of metro Detroit’s most vibrant restaurant areas. No one will leave Royal Oak Pride hungry! Sponsors of Royal Oak Pride include the Royal Oak DDA, Corewell Health, MotorCity Casino Hotel, Smirnoff, Crown Royal, Brew Detroit, Baker College, Five15 Royal Oak, and Pronto Royal Oak. The non-profit partner for RO Pride is Six Feet Over, an organization that provides financial and emotional support for survivors of suicide loss and individuals with lived experience of suicide, while engaging in community prevention through mental health education and advocacy to support healthier futures.
