Public Lecture: Mike Cloud

Cranbrook Academy of Art’s 2024-25 Public Lecture Series is free and open to the public at Cranbrook’s deSalle Auditorium. Cranbrook Art Museum is open late and free to all on Thursdays, please arrive early to explore their current exhibitions. Mike Cloud is a painter and serves as an Associate Professor and Dirctor of Graduate Studies in the Department of Art, Theory, and Practice at Northwestern University in Illinois. His artistic practice encompasses the expanded field of painting and image-making. He dissects photographic and painterly forms, scrambling text and re-aligning content to produce new breaks in legibility and new understandings.
