Poetry Reading with Pulitzer Prize Winner Tyehimba Jess

Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tyehimba Jess will perform a reading. This event is co-sponsored by University of Detroit Mercy's Department of English, the College of Liberal Arts & Education, the African American Studies Program and the Black Abolitionist Archive. Jess is a Detroit Native who won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for poetry with his book Olio. In 2004, his book Leadbelly was a winner of the National Poetry Series.
