Never Again: Germans and Genocide After the Holocaust

Looking beyond well-intentioned statements and monuments, acclaimed scholar Andrew I. Port will discuss how the Holocaust shaped German responses to modern-day genocides in other countries after 1945. Through this discussion, he will also highlight how these foreign atrocities recast Germany’s understanding of its own horrific history. Andrew I. Port, Ph.D., is an award-winning scholar and author of several books about modern Germany, genocide, and Holocaust memory. A graduate of Yale and Harvard, Dr. Port serves as a Professor of History at Wayne State University and is frequently invited to lecture throughout North America and Europe. Refreshments will be served.
