Chamber Music at the Scarab Club is excited to present the third concert of its 25th season in the Main Gallery of Detroit’s historic Scarab Club. The program highlights extraordinary works for string trio and string quartet, written by three composers who tragically perished in the Holocaust: Hans Krása, Gideon Klein and Erwin Schulhoff. Each work is incredibly inventive, with many references to dance forms, jazz, and other styles of European music. The program also includes Felix Mendelssohn's lovely Four Pieces for String Quartet. The performers are violinists Laura Roelofs and Velda Kelly, violist Scott Stefanko and cellist Ben Maxwell.
