Lansing State Journal reports: "Iwo Jima Diary: An Illustrated Oral History," is a 61-minute film that chronicles the combat experience of Michigan native Edward "Mort" Denell during his time with the 5th Marine Division as a machine gunner on Iwo Jima." Mort kept a combat journal and fifty years later, using his journal for reference, illustrated his story with full page color pencil illustrations.
