The heyday of the pinball machine may have ended with the arcade video game explosion of the 1980s, but each new generation finds a few fresh devotees who love hitting those flippers. Locally, there’s no better place to explore the world of pinball than the Michigan Pinball Expo, which takes place at Oakland University for four days this week. The family-friendly event will feature more than 125 machines, many of them set on “free play” all day long. For more skilled players, tournaments offer the chance for competition and prizes. The event continues until Sunday, April 12.
