The Dossin Great Lakes Museum’s annual Lost Mariners Remembrance returns for the 25th consecutive year, recognizing the sacrifices of professional sailors lost on the Great Lakes. The event takes place on the anniversary of the sinking of the S.S.Edmund Fitzgerald.
The evening includes a lantern vigil and wreath ceremony, performances by Great Lakes balladeer Lee Murdock, and a short presentation by Detroit Historical Society curator Emeritus Joel Stone about the 1874 explosion of the packet boat the Brooklyn.
