Joshua Hedley

The bastardization of country music is an epidemic and it’s gone on far too long. Thankfully, Nashville newbie and quick country staple Joshua Hedley is the antidote. Hedley, who released his debut record Mr. Jukebox on Third Man Records earlier this year, rejects the term throwback and has said that “something can’t be a throwback if it never goes out of style.” Hedley’s style harkens to the days of George Jones when songs were written with whiskey and tears. Though Hedley’s voice is less rustic and more akin to velvet, Mr. Jukebox is modern without feeling like Shania karaoke.
