A rare film screening of the 1957 sci-fi flick “Invasion of the
Saucer Men”, to be held in Lincoln Park, home of one of the film’s stars, Lyn Osborn. Lyn Osborn
was born on January 21, 1926 and would be turning 97 years old. Osborn appears in the film
alongside actors Frank Gorshin, Steve Terrell and Gloria Castillo, and directed by Edward L. Cahn
for American International Pictures. His character Artie Burns also serves as the film’s narrator.
The movie was released in 1957 on a double bill with another classic AIP film, “I Was a Teenage
Werewolf” which starred a very young Michael Landon.
The screening will be preceded by a “Best Alien Costume Contest”; entrants will be
judged and awarded prizes in three categories: for “most creative”, “best overall”, and “the best
costume recreating a 1950s-movie-alien”. All those in attendance can vote for their favorites in
each category. Prior to the film, a short video bio of Lyn Osborn’s career will be shared.
