In The Tradition Jazz Ensemble Performs Revolutionary Music on July the 4th
When: Mon., July 4, 2-4 p.m. 2022
One hundred and seventy years ago, in Rochester, N.Y., fiery orator and abolitionist, Frederick Douglass, delivered his most memorable speech which answered for America “What to the Negro is the Fourth of July?”
On July 4, 2022, through music by In The Tradition Jazz Ensemble and spoken word, the revolutionary spirit of Douglass will be invoked in an exploration of the myth of emancipation in America and the evolution of Black resistance and revolution.
