In the Beginning…

With In The Beginning…, the Detroit Center for Design + Technology “explores the fragility and tenacity of feminine identity” through a multimedia exhibition curated by Sarah Ayers. The exhibition features photographic multimedia work by L. Mikelle Standbridge, sculptural multimedia work by Nancy Unger, sculptural installations by Dee Clements, and an interactive woven fiber-optic installation Irene Lavon Walker, tackling “ideas of women’s work, boundaries and expectation.”

Opening 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 at DCDT Woodward Gallery, 4219 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 248-204-4060; detroit.design. No admission. Show runs through March 31.
