In An Unknown Hand: Treble Music from Anonymous Manuscripts

History comes to life with Serafina's newest project focusing on music from two newly-rediscovered anonymous convent manuscripts. The ensemble has painstakingly transposed, edited, and interpreted pieces that have likely not been heard for centuries. With early music from France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Canada, the program sheds light on the work of uncredited convent composers and singers around the world. We invite you to be a part of history as we recreate how this music may have sounded three hundred years ago, and to learn more about our process of taking historical manuscript to performance.
