House/Wife Home/Maker - Art Reception for Amber Barker
When: Sat., March 9, 7-9 p.m. 2019
What makes me a 'Good Woman'?
The works in House/Wife Home/Maker are hand-stitched explorations of what makes a ‘Good Woman’. The 19th and 20th century laid the groundwork for how we have come to both idealize and demonize feminine labour. The artist is interested in this dichotomy of propagated morality and how that ultimately shapes identity and personal value.
Join us for an art reception for Amber's solo exhibit at the Beaubien House, running March 9th through April 20th.
