Harp & Alto Trombone

Chamber Music at the Scarab Club’s 24th season opener will feature the world premiere of Maurice DRAUGHN’s Moments for alto trombone and harp, performed by DSO principal trombonist Kenneth Thompkins and harpist/composer Maurice Draughn! Written especially for Thompkins, Moments is an exciting work that displays the lyrical nature of both instruments, and includes fanfares, romantic melodies and jazzy rhythmic figures. Two beautiful works for harp, flute and strings by Jean FRANÇAIX and Albert ROUSSEL, and a trio by ROUSSEL will round out this delightful program.
