Funky Rivertown Fest: Dirk Kroll Band and Billy Brandt and the Sugarees

Funky Rivertown Fest is a brand-new weeklong music festival in downtown Ypsilanti, dedicated to original music. Concerts each night at 7:30 PM, matinee Saturday at 2:30. Program includes many Detroit Music Award winners playing a variety of genres. Dirk Kroll’s influences include British pop-rock, blues, funk, ska, and Americana. He holds several Detroit Music Award nominations and awards. The Dirk Kroll Band features horns, keyboards, and blended vocal harmonies. Billy Brandt is one of Detroit’s most decorated songwriters and band leaders. His band, the Sugarees nods back to greats like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young to the Band.
