In case you haven’t heard, Badu will donate proceeds from this show to help clear Detroit’s rape kit backlog. Badu has partnered with the show’s promoters to donate $5 from every ticket sold to local nonprofits working to clear these cold cases. Of course, none of us need any extra reasons to see the celebrated R&B singer in concert, but this level of social commitment will surely help to make the event feel like more than just another show.
