If you remember the progressive pop sibling duo the Fiery Furnaces, then the voice of Eleanor Friedberger may sound familiar. Since disbanding in 2011, singer-songwriter Friedberger has churned out a batch of impermeable indie pop records, all of which capture the catchy precision of her Furnaces years but with a well-roundedness that is entirely her own. New View, 2016’s follow-up to Personal Record, proved that Friedberger can fuse lush beats with observational songwriting and still deliver a whole lot of fun.
