Danish String Quartet

The lauded Danish String Quartet’s exciting return to the CMSD marks the beginning of our celebration of the Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th anniversary year. They have chosen three quartets that span the composer’s career, one from his “early” period, one of the great “Razumovsky” quartets from his “middle” period, and his 16th and final quartet, with its famous, fateful question written under the slow introduction to the finale, “The Difficult Decision, Must it be?” to which the composer responds with the joyful, affirmative main theme of the movement, “It must be.”
