This tasting will feature six different Co-Op owned Mezcals from farmers in Oaxaca with William Torrez of Banhez Mezcal in the Chef’s Table of the historic Detroit Foundation Hotel. There will be savory bites and desserts from executive pastry Chef Duncan Spangler provided. Banhez Mezcal is owned and operated by the families of the U.P.A.D.E.C Co-operative in Ejutla, Oaxaca. Their members, located throughout the hills and valleys of Ejutla, come together to grow, harvest, distill, and package every bottle.
