By Jessica Swale. Directed by Karen Sheridan. In 1896, Girton College is the first college in Britain to accept women. But despite making the same grades as men, women are not allowed to graduate. Finishing without a degree, they are thought over-educated and unmarriageable. Come spend an unpredictable year of college with these ‘blue stockings’ and their male counterparts as they test their brains and guard their turf when love becomes part of the equation.
