Art Exhibition, "Slavery through Reconstruction" and Art Documentary Screening, "Chasing Ghosts"

When: Wed., Feb. 8, 6-9 p.m. 2023

The documentary, “Chasing Ghosts” portrays Bill Traylor, born a slave and who at 85, took up a pencil and a scrap to document his recollections of his life. Bill Traylor’s body of work is composed and executed as reflections of the survival of a black man during slavery and reconstruction and as a chronicler, telling the story of his time. Blackbird Gallery's current art exhibition, "Slavery to Reconstruction", will be on view throughout February in honor of Black History Month.
