ANNUAL IN PERSON SPELLING BEE

The Dominican Literacy Center in Detroit presents its annual “Spelling Bee” fundraiser at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 22. The event is MC’d by Josh Landon, anchor at Fox2 Detroit and Moth Storyteller Maxie Jones. Location: Jam Handy, 2900 Grand Blvd., Detroit. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased online. At the stylish location, The Dominican Literacy Center Spelling Bee will include Middle Eastern food, drinks and more, plus showcase an all-star Spelling Bee, storytelling, and free prize drawings. It is sponsored by the Better Health Market, Comerica Bank, First Nation, and Stellantis.
