Vintage photos of Chicken Shack

John and Iola Sobeck opened the first Chicken Shack in Royal Oak in 1956, which means the purveyor of broasted chicken is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

In honor of this momentous occasion, all 20 locations will be offering a throwback special on Tuesday, June 7. All patrons will be able to purchase a four-piece dinner (breast, wing, leg, thigh) for the original price of $1.45.

For more info check chickenshack.com.

To help them celebrate their diamond anniversary, we thought you'd enjoy these vintage images from the original Chicken Shack location as well as the Sobeck family.
