The most anticipated new restaurants coming to Michigan in 2020

This year was good, but next year is looking even more scrumptious. The metro Detroit food scene is about to serve up some delicious new eats in 2020.

Eastern Market Brewing Company

Expected to open in early 2020 at 567 Livernois Ave., Ferndale
Eastern Market Brewing Company bought Axle Brewing Company, formerly Livernois Tap. Because the new location will not be in Eastern Market, they may offer different beers.

Cambria Hotel, Bar, & Restaurant

Expected to open in 2020 at 600 W. Lafayette Blvd., Detroit and in Shelby Twp.
The new hotel will include a bar and restaurant – Verona by Fabio Viviani, a famous chef. The restaurant will include a variety of dishes, beer, wine, and cocktails.

Tupelo Honey

Expected to open in spring 2020 in Grand Rapids
Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Tupelo Honey is opening their first Michigan location. They specialize in hand-made Southern food and traditions.

Bobcat Bonnie’s

Expected to open in February 2020 in the Mall at Partridge Creek in Clinton Twp.
This gastropub serves lunch, dinner, drinks, and coffee at affordable prices. They currently have three locations in Wyandotte, Ferndale, Corktown, and recently-opened in Ypsilanti.

Tenacity Craft

Expected to open in 2020 at 8517 Second Ave., Detroit
This Flint-based brewery is expanding to create a coffee-taproom bar. It will also include a menu with snacks and pastries.

Expected to open in spring 2020 in Brush Park, Detroit
This Cleveland-based brewery will have three signature beers, a variety of draft beers and seasonal brews, and unique pizzas.

Expected to open in 2020 at 8110 Mack Ave, Detroit
Currently at a small location in West Village, Sister Pie Bakery is planning to open a breakfast and lunch cafe that will include a grocery store, and a kitchen for baking classes.

Yellow Light Coffee & Donuts

Expected to open in early 2020 at 14447 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit
Co-owners of Green Dot Stables plan to take over the former Krispy Krunchy Chicken location. They will serve coffee and house-made doughnuts, along with fried chicken sandwiches.

Taking the place of Black Lotus, Pumachug is creating a gastropub based on the community’s interest. They are asking residents and visitors to take a survey on what Pumachug should include. They are giving away $25 gift cards for those who take the survey.
