1. Rivertown Market (Detroit)
1475 E Jefferson Ave., Detroit
This mini-style Meijer market downtown is great for people living in the city. It offers a fancy grocery store experience alongside prices that don’t break the bank, and is stocked with all of the usual necessities, as well as fresh pizza and local food. There’s even a nice-sized parking lot. It’s not as massive as other Meijer stores, though, and just offers groceries rather than everything full-sized Meijers do. Plus, there are no cashiers, only self-checkout — so if you enjoy having someone check you out and bag your items for you, you’re out of luck. However, the service is great and there are very few issues like there are at some of the big Meijers in the area. Compared to other local markets, Rivertown Market takes the cake and is a gem to the city of Detroit.

20. Roseville Meijer
30800 Little Mack Ave., Roseville
This location just sucks, according to Yelp! reviews. It’s too big, it’s always dirty, it’s run-down, there are frequently long lines, and it’s just not very chill at all. 0/10, would not recommend.

17. Livonia Meijer
13000 Middlebelt Rd., Livonia
The outside of this Meijer literally looks like a barn, further proving that Livonia is basically redneck land. You may want to steer clear just because of that. 16. Southgate Meijer
16300 Fort St., Southgate
If you live Downriver, this may be the worst option. (According to Google reviews, Flat Rock is the best, with Lincoln Park and Allen Park just decent, but at least better than this one.) The lines are long af, so unless you want to go to the store and stare at your phone for an hour in public, maybe visit the Kroger across the street instead.
