Protests continued
in cities across the world on Saturday as Israel bombs Gaza in response to the Oct. 7 attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas that killed 1,400 people; according to officials, Israel’s retaliation has killed nearly 10,000 people, many of them children. In Hamtramck, which has a large Arab population, demonstrators gathered at Veterans Memorial Park to show solidarity with the Palestinian people, calling for a ceasefire and an end to Israel’s decades-long occupation of the Palestinian territories. The rally followed similar events in
downtown Detroit and nearby
Dearborn.
