‘Barbie’ memes take over Michigan as movie premieres

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer got in on the fun, posting plenty of Barbie content yesterday and today.

The Barbie movie is finally here, it’s as fun as anyone expected, and it’s triggering a ton of memes.

Michiganders — ranging from athletes to Governor Gretchen Whitmer herself — are posting themselves as Barbies, as memes, or taking on the Barbie-Oppenheimer dual opening weekend “Barbenheimer” dichotomy in Tweet form.

It’s a lot of fun (we personally think we’re more Oppenheimer, not Barbie, unlike the poll below suggests) and since this Barbie is a journalist, we gathered the tweets up for you to enjoy, too.

Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) are prepared to journey into the heart of darkness — aka the real world.
