While residents of Troy might be a little upset that their beloved Whole Foods is closing, residents of Birmingham will be glad to hear their local Whole Foods finally has an opening date of Oct. 25.
This new Whole Foods in Birmingham will be double the size of the Troy location, and will even feature a bar, according to a
press release. Called the Maple Road Taproom, it will feature 24 beers on tap, turning your dreams of getting drunk while casually grocery shopping into a reality. The location will also feature a Real Good Juice Co. Bar.
The Oct. 25 opening will feature a bread-baking ceremony — basically Whole Foods' twee idea of a ribbon-cutting ceremony — that will start at 9 a.m. We'd suggest you get there early if you can because the first 500 customers get free gift cards to the store, which is pretty great since free money is always good.
