New natural hair expo comes to Cobo this weekend

This first annual event is a celebration of the beauty of natural hair and through a series of workshops, organizers will offer product information and technique training. A showcase by stylist Dru Thompson will show men and women how certain types of wardrobe style and haircuts can enhance the look of natural hair, while Naturalicious CEO Gwen Jimmere will offer techniques on how to grow natural hair quickly. Original Moxie founder Rachel Blistein and master stylist, Carmen Samaniego-Shahin will use live models to demonstrate the benefits of a “curly cut.” Several other workshops are also planned.
