A Detroit teacher is accused of bringing marijuana gummies into a juvenile detention center where she teaches in Hamtramck.

A Detroit teacher has been charged after prosecutors say she brought marijuana gummy bears into a juvenile jail where she was teaching.

Darla Spinner, 48, will be arraigned Thursday in 31st District Court on a charge of possession of cannabis on school property.

Spinner was arrested Friday.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office says Spinner was a teacher at the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility in Hamtramck when she brought the gummies to the center at about 8 a.m. on July 12.

It wasn’t immediately clear if she planned to hand out the gummies or if they were for personal use.
