Update: Kid Rock was dismissed from jury duty around 2:30 p.m. yesterday, the Freep reports.
No explanation was given regarding his dismissal but we can think of a reason or two why he might not have been an ideal fit.

Robert James Ritchie — AKA Kid Rock — appeared at the Oakland County Courthouse this morning alongside 159 other potential jurors for an upcoming murder trial.
The Detroit Free Press reports:
Rock arrived at the courthouse in Pontiac early this morning, and Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies provided him with an escort to the jury room. He sat at the back of the room, reading his book. Two older women sat at the same table, perhaps unaware they were seated next to one of the world’s most famous musicians.
There you have it. Even the rich and famous aren't exempt from civic duties.
