Morrissey
World Peace Is None of Your Business
Harvest/Capitol

The 10th solo studio album from perennial downer and former Smiths frontman Morrissey, World Peace Is None of Your Business is exactly as indignant and pseudo-intellectual as the title suggests (and as the old chap’s career thus far would have you expect). However, Morrissey hasn’t earned legions of adoring fans simply by being a bit of a dick. The man has a certain charm — vulnerability behind the vitriol that continues to result in delicately attractive music. The title track, for example, has a sweet nursery-rhyme quality, despite the sentiments expressed. That theme runs throughout — sweet and sarcastic. Caustic caramel.
