Detroit City Football Club, a local soccer organization, will host a World Cup viewing party in Cadillac Square tomorrow at 12 p.m. The screening will feature the match between the USA and Germany. This match will is also the last game of the group round for the United States Men's National team.
Held in the outdoor park just east of Campus Martius in downtown Detroit, other amenities will include Fathead Big Heads of Clint Dempsey and Tim Howard, and a Fathead life-size cutout of Dempsey that's perfect for photo opportunities.
The screening will also feature a food truck rally, with many local wheeled eateries making appearances.
“With each game, the World Cup is winning over more and more fans to soccer”, said Detroit City FC co-owner Sean Mann. “Everyone is talking about the sport this summer, and as DCFC proved minor league soccer can draw thousands to downtown Detroit, we expect a similar excitment for these screening events. We are thrilled so many organizations share our passion for the game and for our city.”
Fans of the DCFC can also show support for their local team by purchasing merchandise that will be available at the screening.
The DCFC is welcoming everyone, from downtown workers, families, visitors, and soccer enthusiasts.
