Movement Day 2 - Hawtin and co take it over the top

By Maximilian de la Garza

If you're ears aren't ringing, your legs aren't throbbing and you haven't been kicked out of the ridiculously silly VIP area, you're doing Movement wrong. Sunday at Movement means the only legends you're worshiping all have D and J in front of their names. We kicked things off right with Michigan native Seth Troxler over at the RBMA stage where the DJ and producer skillfully showcased his globally renowned techno. After that we eased over to Moog to catch a breeze and hear the sleazy disco house of the duo from Belfast known as Bicep. They brought the vibes with house and classic '90s style vocal samples thrown over the beats, it was the perfect soundtrack to feeling the night begin. Their new single "Vision of Love" climaxed their set and basically sounds like injecting ecstasy into your ears.

Producer Julio Bashmore took the stage next with his UK funky style of garage music steeped in old Dance Mania vibes. Finally we had to watch the sunset over at Beatport standing on the top of the monument looking across the river while Dixon absolutely killed it, shining a light on Berlin techno.

Next up we got ready for Richie Hawtin to bring the crowd to their knees with an unbelievable light and music show. But, it was hearing the sounds of Baauer over at Moog that truly took the night over the top. You may know him from the viral megahit "Harlem Shake" a hip hop melding bass song with an outrageous drop. He continued to stun the Peace Love Unity and Respect kids with this Wu Tang ODB house mashup that's gonna piss off every other DJ when they hear it, yeah it was that good.

As for the after parties? There's always tomorrow.
